The Spirit of Christmas🎄
Last week I wrote a narrative about Christmas. I wrote about a banana named Aldi and how he hates Christmas but I'll let you read my story to find out what happens. What I like about my story is that all my characters are fruits and vegetables. I loved writing and creating the story but found it hard to make sound very descriptive. I would be so grateful if you could comment on anything you like about my story.

Saint Emma of Lesum
For the past few weeks, we have been learning about saints. We had to choose a saint to do some research on and I chose Saint Emma of Lesum because she was always doing everything she could for the poor. I drew a picture of her and surrounded her with words that describe her. Next, I wrote a prayer for her and decorated it. I enjoyed drawing her but found it hard to find lots of information because she lived a long time ago. I would be very grateful if you comment on anything you like about my work.

People of Parihaka
A few weeks ago we celebrated Parihaka. Parihaka was a Maori village near Taranaki. When the pakeha settlers arrived the people of Parihaka didn't fight back, instead they offered the soldiers loaves of bread and the children sang. As an activity me and some friends made a video with information on Parihaka. We set it out like a news interview and had a lot of fun making it. I enjoyed making up questions for the video But found it difficult to act my role and make everything look good. I would love it if you could comment on anything you like about the video.
Rangoli
Last week was Diwali to celebrate my class has been learning all about it. To welcome people into our classroom we have been busy making rangoli. People of the Hindu religion make rangoli to welcome guests to their homes in the season of Diwali. Diwali is celebrated by Hindu people all over the world but is specially celebrated in India. Diwali is known as the festival of light and usually last 5 Days. Before Diwali people spring clean their homes and decorate with Diya which are oil lamps. I enjoyed choosing a design for my Rangoli and colouring it with my friend Theo. I would love it if you could comment on anything you like about my Rangoli.

Self Portaits
This week we have been learning how to mix paint colours. To show what we had learned we painted self-portraits. Using our skills we mixed our skin tones and hair colours. We painted on clear laminating folders. We traced our faces with vivid by slipping a picture in and tracing it on the other side. I really enjoyed this new type of painting but find difficult to paint inside the lines I had drawn beforehand. I would love it if you could comment on anything you like about m post.

My Three Achievements for 2021
This week we used Canva to make a video presentation about our three achievements of 2021. We were learning how to use the video tool on Canva. I really enjoyed selecting a colour palette and attempting to stick to it but despite that was difficult to think of only three achievements to put in my presentation. Next time I would choose a more bright colour palette because mine was quite dull.

Harakeke Sign🪴
Last week we were learning about Maori medicinal plants. We had chosen a plant that was growing in our school gardens and made a sign for it. Our sign would have to display the healing properties of the plant. I chose Harekeke which we have lots of. I planned my sign online and then painted it on a plank. I wrote the words in a paint pen. I enjoyed designing my sign and painting it. I found it difficult to use the paint pens because they leaking cause I was pressing too hard.

This term's value is service and my class has been learning about how we can show service to others. First, we used jam board to write down our ideas about what service lookalike, feels like and sounds like. Next, we used Canva to create a poster that tells people how they can show service to others. I really enjoyed choosing a template and changing things so they suited my theme. I didn't find anything difficult because Canva makes it so easy. I hope you learn some ways to show service from my poster.

Why Dancing is the most Superb Sport🩰
Last week we were writing our speeches. We got to choose a topic that we were really passionate about and I chose my life and passion, dancing. I love to dance and so this was the best topic for me considering it allows me to express my passion. I wrote why dancing is the most superb sport. My main points were how it benefits physical, emotional and internal health. I really enjoyed express and showing my passion through my speech. I did find it difficult to write an interesting and exciting conclusion with lots of detail. Next time I would like to write more about dance movements and the history of dance. I would love it if you could comment on anything you like about my speech.
Have you ever performed in front of a huge audience? Have you ever performed in front of a huge audience of hundreds of people? Have you ever performed in front of a huge audience of hundreds of people who are all clapping and cheering for you? I have and it feels like you’re out of this world. I firmly believe that dancing is the best sport because it is excellent for your health and an incredible workout for the body and mind.
Firstly, I think that dancing is the most superb sport because it improves your physical strength. Ballet teaches incredible posture and Modern improves general muscles. Tap dancing is excellent for strengthing your feet and the muscles around your ankle’s. All types of dance improve physical strength and help to develop muscles.
Second of all, I think dancing is the most superb sport because it improves your mental health. Modern is known to improve memory, mood and focus. While ballet can improve your general mental health with its calming music. it completely allows you to relax your mind and body.
Lastly, I think that dancing is the most superb sport because it improves your organs. Tap dancing improves your heart and lung allowing them to run smoothly. While modern ensures a steady oxygen flow for the muscles. Ballet calms down your heart rate with its calm movements.
In this piece of writing, I have stated three reasons why dancing is the most superb sport. Ballet, Modern and Tap are all excellent examples of how most styles of dance will benefit your body and mind. I highly recommend all of these styles for beginning dancers as well many other styles like Irish dancing and hip-hop. In this piece of writing, I have given you three styles of dance that prove that dancing is the best sport.

Social Justice week Beatitudes
I've been learning how to explain the beatitudes. As a digital learning object, I created a poster with my chosen beatitude. My beatitude is blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted. I love this beatitude because it shows that even if you are sad god will be there to comfort you. I found it difficult to choose a beatitude because there all incredible and inspiring quotes. I enjoyed reading the story corresponding to my beatitude by Sony the sun bear on the Caritas website. Next time I would add more detail to my poster. What do you know about Social Justice Week?

Please comment on anything you like about my work and whether you think he's guilty or innocent.

Today I did a routine to shake it off. I loved dancing this routine for you guys. Although this time I didn't explain it just copy what I do. I enjoyed every second of this dance and I hope you do too. I found it challenging to choose where to stop the music because it's an absolutely fabulous song to dance to with a great modern rhythm. Please comment on anything you like about this dance. So remember just shake it off.

Today I was learning about Yoga why it's good for your body and mind. I filmed a video containing a short yoga lesson with instructions on how to relax your body and mind. Please comment on anything you like about my video. If you want to learn more about yoga check out cosmetic kids and their awesome yoga channel.
Marble Maze
Today I made a marble mazer out of lego. I couldn't find my marble's so I used a ball of playdough instead. I made a maze where you go along and then down. I really enjoyed guiding my play dough through the maze though it didn't roll as smoothly as I would have liked. I didn't find anything difficult which is good. Please comment on anything you like about my maze.

Cats Rule
Today I wrote a persuasive text about why cats are better than dogs. I wrote about their affection and easy hygiene as well telling you that cats only need three things and their food, water, and love. Those three things will make any cat happy. I really enjoyed talking about cats because I can't have them since my dad's allergic but maybe someday I'll be allowed. I found it hard to make my text persuasive and informative. Please comment on anything you like about my writing.
Cats
I’ve always thought that cats are better than dogs. So in this piece of writing, I will explain why cats are better than dogs.
Firstly cats are independent which means they won’t constantly be begging for attention like dogs do which can annoying when you’re trying to work. They also love to cuddle and lick without covering you in slobber. Although they still cough up hairballs those are pretty easy to clean up.
Secondly, these felines are fairly easy to take care of because they just need food, water, and love. Not to mention that they don’t cost much to take care of either, only about six hundred a year while dogs are a little more pricey.
Lastly, the fact that cats just dig a hole and do their business although most cat owners have a litter box that you do need to empty put is better scooping up poop. Cats also clean themselves and are sure to never get too dirty.
So, in conclusion, I have told you why cats are better than dogs as well as needing less care there are also some of the most loveable pets ever.
The Magic Finger
Today for science I was learning about water tension also known as the skin of the water. I had to do a little experiment which I have dubbed the magic finger experiment where you make pepper float to the edges of a plate. Here are some fun facts about water tension. Dishwashing liquid breaks a water tension so that the surface moves to the side. Water can go over the brim of the glass without spilling down the sides because of the molecules that hold it together tightly. I enjoyed doing the experiment and filming it although it did get a little sticky. I thought it was hard to execute the experiment well and for it to work properly.
The Animal Escape Room🐍
Today I played an escape room one of my classmates had made. You went through different rooms where you saw animals and answered questions to go to the next room. I loved seeing how much effort was put into making it and thought it was really cool my favourite room was the room with the bats because there freaky but awesome. I found it difficult to figure out how to move in the escape room because you had to use was instead of arrow keys. Please comment on anything you like about my collage.
Cats vs Dogs
Today I was learning about why cats are better than dogs and why dogs are better than cats. All the information I collected I put into a chart to show the reason why cats are better than dogs in my opinion. I love cats because they're cuddly and very independent which means you don't always have to play with them when you're trying to do something else. I enjoyed learning about cats as well as dogs. I found it hard to choose between cats and dogs but enjoyed learning about both. Feel free to comment on what animal you prefer.

I started with number six and chose to do six situps and you can see me do them in the first video. Then I did number two, the task I decided to was to meditate for two minutes but because thats kind of boring to film I turned it into a tutorial on how to medetate correctly and that's the second video. Lastly I did number three and for that task I chose to learn how to say 2 words and a phrase in Japenese and you hear me say them in the final video. I enjoyed all of these tasks but my favourite was the meditation because it really relaxed me and got me focused. What do enjoy doing for your wellbeing?
Saint Elizabeth of Hungary
Today I was learning about Saint Elizabeth of Hungary and her life. To show what I had learned I created a set of slides all about me answering the questions my teacher had set for us. First I looked at the questions and put them on my slides. Then I searched for answers on the internet and put them into my own word s before adding a background, images and fonts. I loved learningabout Saint Elizabeth of Hungary because she is one of my favourite Saints for her kind and charitable love for all. Who's your Favourite Saint ?

Welcome to Japan
This week for reading we have been learning all about Japan and its culture, food and hinstory. To use what we had learned we each created an individual set of slides with 4 to 6 slides with themes that we got to decide on.

After choosing which ones we were going to use we deleted the rest and started writing in the facts about the different things like Japenese food, celebrations and it's animals. Then it was time to decorate the slides with fonts, colours, images and backgrounds and then we were finished.
I really enjoyed finding information about the people of Japan because almost all of the people in Japan are Japanese and only very little move from China and Korea.I found it very challenging to put the information into my own words because there is so little you can change about a fact.
What do you know about Japan?

How High Will it Fly?
Today we are going to launch a aquarocket into the air and beforehand have to estimate what will happen why and how high it will fly. I think that rocket will build up water pressure and launch into the air at around 50 to 55 feet high. Here's a piece of writing to explain the process of launching a water rocket using an aquapod.
Do you know how to launch a Rocket? Today I will be explaining how to launch and aquapod rocket. An aquapod is an orange platform used to launch a water rocket.
First you have to fill your bottle 1 third with water and then you have to attach it to the aquapod by holding the aquaod upside down and screwing the bottle onto the valve with a rubber seal to stop the water from leaking.
Secondly you have to attach an air pump to another valve on aquapod mechanism and then you have to pump air into the bottle to create air pressure.
Finally you have to pull the string to release launch mechanism that will release the air pressure and as it does it creates force allow the water rocket to launch into the air.
In this piece of writing I have explained how to launch a water rocket using an aquapod.
Here's a link to the video of the lift of.

Matariki with Scratch
For Matariki my class has been learning how to code using Scratch.First we had to choose our character and a backdrop. Then we could get coding.
I really enjoyed getting to choose my character and learning how to use all the different buttons on scratch. I did find using the buttons to navigate very difficult and challenging because you have navigate using numbers.
I also learned how to change backdrops, add characters and and make those characters move. I think that if I had gotten some more time I would have added more scenes where my sprite finds more stars for the matariki cluster.Although my project isn't finished I hope you will enjoy it.

My Tropical Paradise
This week we looked at an image of a tropical island with mountains and an aquamarine sea this was also our inspiration for our writing this week. We had to write a descriptive piece of writing about it and describe what we could hear, see, smell, taste and feel. This piece of writing inspired us to write using our senses which are things we will use all our lives. I enjoyed writing about what I could feel because it made me feel like I was really there taking it all in. I found it challenging to write about what I could taste because if you're looking a t an image you often can't taste anything.
Tropical paradise
I’m welcomed with the smell of the crisp salted sea air and greeted with the scent of the freshly picked coconuts.
Clear ,aquamarine water, elevated coconut tree’s, chalky white clouds twirl around the azure sky. Enormous jagged mountain tops tickle the snow white clouds.
Waves splash along the seashore, coconut tree leaves rustle in the wind.
Soft warm sand, a warm island breeze and sharp pearly sea shells stick out of the soft sand.
Island air is flowing into my mouth like a refreshing drink of lemonade.

ANZAC Post Card
For Anzac day a couple of weeks ago we had to make a postcard writing to our family from our point of view from the war I was a nurse and told my parents how I had too take care of so many soldiers. My digital learning object shows that the war wasn't just gruesome for the soldiers but also the nurses that were there to help didn't have a great time. I loved researching about the war for information I could use for my postcard.I hope you like my postcard with a belgian stamp.
Amazing Sign Language
This week is NZ sign language week and for NZ sign language week me and class have been learning about basic sign language like finger spelling our name.I also took a course on basic needs and wants in sign language so now I can sign quite confidently.I enjoyed learning sign language because it was like learning a whole new language and it really got me excited! I found it challenging to learn to sign the hail mary because it was so long and complicated. My digital learning objects are two video's of me signing things. The first one is of me signing my name and some basic needs and wants. The second one is of me signing the hail mary. I hope you enjoy them and learn something new.

My Chaotic Bedroom
This week for writing we had to write a descriptive piece of writing because he had to describe our bedroom and what it looks like. I enjoyed sharing my mixed opinions of my bedroom because I like but I dislike it even more. I found it challenging to describe what I could smell or taste in my room because there's not really something in your room that you can taste.Next time I would add more feelings to my writing because I didn't really have many
My Chaotic Bedroom
My least favorite part of my house is my bedroom because it’s messy, chaotic, crazy and has absolutely no view. My older sister is always running in and out so there’s never a moment's peace and quiet.
My room has two high beds on one half of the room and another wall is lined with wardrobes for our fine clothes. Two large windows line anthor wall. Dark blue curtains frame the windows. Stuff’s randomly scattered everywhere and craft supplies are stuffed under the beds. A large gymnastics box stands proudly just to the side of the window.
My room is the messiest room in the house and my mum gave up trying to keep it clean a long time ago because I can never keep it tidy for more than a few days.
My bedroom has a hard wooden floor, ugly grey plaster walls and the whole room smells of floral perfume, a light breeze is flowing through the open window. My sister likes to keep her finger tapping along the keyboard of a computer..
So, I still dislike my bedroom because it's alway dull, crazy and chaotic.

The Horouta
This term, we have been learning about the Horouta waka and it's journey to New Zealand. The Horouta brought kumara to New Zealand on board. The wahine Hinehakirirangi took care of the kumara. The Horouta crashed on Ohiwa where the hull was damaged. Pawa and Kiwa, the voyagers aboard the waka, discussed the options for a while before deciding that Pawa would go ashore and find the special timber required to fix the waka. Kiwa made some minor repairs to the waka using flax and started traveling across the shoreline. If you want know the rest of the story just take a look at my slide show down below.

The story of Easter
For holy week we learned about the easter season because it is a very important time for christians, it is the time that Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins. We learned about how easter starts when Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a donkey, this is the day we call palm Sunday because as Jesus rode into Jerusalem people spread their cloaks and palm leaves on road for Jesus to ride over. The easter season ends when Pentecost happens.Pentecost was the day that the holy spirit came down to the disciples as tongues of fire one rested on each of the disciples their heads it gave them the courage to go out and spread the word of God.On flip grid I created a video displaying my easter story using my easter reef and here's a picture of my easter reef.
