Hoiho Art🐧
For the last few weeks, we have been working on our calendar art. Calendar art is where all the students make artwork that their parents can order to be turned into products like calendars, mouse mats and sketchbooks. My class did native birds for our calendar art. I chose a Hoiho which is new Zealand's yellow-eyed penguin. First I traced my bird from an image and then I put geometric shapes inside. Next, I shaded in the shapes one by one. Then I drew a circle to highlight my birds head. I used dye to colour my background pale blue. Finally, I used tissue paper to emphasize my art. I enjoyed colouring my bird because it was beautiful how the colours made the art-pop. I found it difficult to choose a colour for my tissue paper because I wanted a contrasting colour. I would be so grateful if you could comment on anything you like about my art.

Kia ora Emma,
ReplyDeleteI admire the thought and effort that you have put into your Hoiho artwork. The geometric shapes that you have used look really effective and the colours are so vibrant.
