The Spirit of Christmas🎄
Last week I wrote a narrative about Christmas. I wrote about a banana named Aldi and how he hates Christmas but I'll let you read my story to find out what happens. What I like about my story is that all my characters are fruits and vegetables. I loved writing and creating the story but found it hard to make sound very descriptive. I would be so grateful if you could comment on anything you like about my story.

Saint Emma of Lesum
For the past few weeks, we have been learning about saints. We had to choose a saint to do some research on and I chose Saint Emma of Lesum because she was always doing everything she could for the poor. I drew a picture of her and surrounded her with words that describe her. Next, I wrote a prayer for her and decorated it. I enjoyed drawing her but found it hard to find lots of information because she lived a long time ago. I would be very grateful if you comment on anything you like about my work.

People of Parihaka
A few weeks ago we celebrated Parihaka. Parihaka was a Maori village near Taranaki. When the pakeha settlers arrived the people of Parihaka didn't fight back, instead they offered the soldiers loaves of bread and the children sang. As an activity me and some friends made a video with information on Parihaka. We set it out like a news interview and had a lot of fun making it. I enjoyed making up questions for the video But found it difficult to act my role and make everything look good. I would love it if you could comment on anything you like about the video.
Rangoli
Last week was Diwali to celebrate my class has been learning all about it. To welcome people into our classroom we have been busy making rangoli. People of the Hindu religion make rangoli to welcome guests to their homes in the season of Diwali. Diwali is celebrated by Hindu people all over the world but is specially celebrated in India. Diwali is known as the festival of light and usually last 5 Days. Before Diwali people spring clean their homes and decorate with Diya which are oil lamps. I enjoyed choosing a design for my Rangoli and colouring it with my friend Theo. I would love it if you could comment on anything you like about my Rangoli.

Self Portaits
This week we have been learning how to mix paint colours. To show what we had learned we painted self-portraits. Using our skills we mixed our skin tones and hair colours. We painted on clear laminating folders. We traced our faces with vivid by slipping a picture in and tracing it on the other side. I really enjoyed this new type of painting but find difficult to paint inside the lines I had drawn beforehand. I would love it if you could comment on anything you like about m post.

My Three Achievements for 2021
This week we used Canva to make a video presentation about our three achievements of 2021. We were learning how to use the video tool on Canva. I really enjoyed selecting a colour palette and attempting to stick to it but despite that was difficult to think of only three achievements to put in my presentation. Next time I would choose a more bright colour palette because mine was quite dull.
