Will global change put an end to our world ?

I did my speech and I was learning to write a persuasive text  that would really hook my reader in and make them believe what I believe. I feel like I did a pretty good job put I probably should have been a bit more persuasive to really force them. I would say that my next steps are to probably address the audience more because I didn't really pull them in as much as I wanted to but I want you read my speech to see what you think .

Will global change put an end to our world ? I strongly believe that global change could destroy our world because of all the damage it’s already done. Today I will talking about the artic summer ice melting and the water levels rising higher, I will also be talking about weather changes for new zealand and about creature habitat loss.

Firstly, I want to talk about the ice melting and the water levels rising. I feel like we should all be worried  about the global change because melts quite a large chunk of ice every year. Due to the ice melting the water levels rise 0.13 inches a year. This can cause erosion which is what happens when big waves break against the side of a hill it takes away chunks of the hill which will cause the hill to crumble down, the same would happen to a sandduin if broke away that could cause houses to collapse which will cause people to lose their homes and I think like a lot of people out there that we can make a difference, we may not be able to stop the artic from melting but we can definitely make a difference for the environment.

Secondly, I want talk about the likely climate change impacts by 2090, there’lle be a larger chance of summer rainfall in the north and east parts of the north island and a larger chance of winter rainfall in the south island. The higher winter temperatures for 2090 are expected to cause more people to catch illnesses like a cold or the flu. By 2090  a lot more droughts are expected, a drought is when there is a low level of rainfall which can lead to a shortage of water which in 2010 was happening a lot.

Lastly I would like to talk about  the fact that global change is effecting our creatures. Many animals are suffering from habitat loss including tiger and polar bears. polar bears are suffering as the artic ice melts at quite a calm rate but as the ice melts it becomes harder for the female polar bear to get back to the main land in autumn for nesting.

In conclusion,  I have talked about some of the key things global change does to our environment including the rising water levels, drought and animal habitat loss. I still strongly believe that global change could end our world and I strongly encourage you  to go out there and make a difference for the environment.
