Senior Triathlon

Last Friday I went to nelson park because my school was having a senior triathlon.I found it difficult to run the whole field because it was so big.I enjoyed swimming in the pool because it cooled me down after running.Next time I would change the speed I ran at during the start of the run because I was very tired about half way.

Senior Triathlon Senior school triathlon “Wake up Emma”, my mum yelled as she walked into my bedroom. I sprang out of bed like a little bunny just set free into the wild. “It's the triathlon, it's the triathlon, yeah!” I was jumping up and down with excitement when mum said it was time to get dressed and eat breakfast. After that, my mum put my hair into a ponytail and we all headed to the car of to school. At school, it was chaos: bikes were getting parked all over the place and kids were looking at other childrens bikes, seeing what kind would be the fastest. I parked my scooter and headed to class. Everyone was dressed in colorful tutus and shirts of their house colours: blue, yellow, green and red. After prayers we headed to Nelson park. Nelson park was organised in different areas for the runners, bikers and swimmers. I headed to the area for the runners where the Year 4’s were lining up for their race. Mrs Naden said go and they sped up alongside the track, slowing down as they went. I watched them carefully. Once they were nearly at the end of the track, Mrs Naden asked the Year 5 girls to line up for the running. I knew Zoe was counting on me, so I ran as fast as I could. I could feel the energy streaming out of my body as I started to see the tent where the bikers were waiting for the runners to tag them. After I tagged Zoe and she had started on the biking track, I headed to the area where the swimmers were getting ready their bikers to tag them. I quickly changed into my togs. As I waited for Zoe to come back from her bike ride I saw many children arriving and tagging their swimmers who then ran and dived into the swimming pool and started to swim as fast as they could. There was Zoe biking as fast as she possibly could. I ran to the line and she tagged me on the hand and I ran to the swimming pool, dived in and swam. As I was swimming I realised that swimming freestyle would be to exhauseding, so I started backstroke and ended in breaststroke to save energy. I climbed out of the pool and ran to the finish line.” second place” I told Zoe as she asked me how it went.
