The Best Samoan Prayer ever!

This week is samoan language week and we have been given a set of tasks to work on throughout the week and today I started off with writing a prayer in samoan. First I watched a video about samoan prayer phrases and then put together my own prayer. For my digital learning object I have added video of me saying the prayer in samoan and I have also added my prayer to the bottom of this page.I really enjoyed writing the prayer using the lines I learned in the video but did find it a challenge to pronounce all the words correctly. Can you say a prayer in samoan? Here’s a link to the video I used that helped me.

Le tama pele o i le lagi

Ou te fa’afetai mo leine aso

Matou te fa’afetai atu lou afio mo lou alofa

The Great Abraham and Sarah Comedy

This term we have been learning about Abraham and Sarah and God's promise to them. To learn more about this we split into groups and created either a role play or news interview about them. My group wrote a funny role play about their journey and I played the role of Sarah. My favourite line in the play is: " The Queen of Nachos? Say whaaaaaat!" because it's a very original and funny line.

Here's the link to our play and I hope you enjoy it!

My Tropical Paradise

This week we looked at an image of a tropical island with mountains and an aquamarine sea this was also our inspiration for our writing this week. We had to write a descriptive piece of writing about it and describe what we could hear, see, smell, taste and feel. This piece of writing inspired us to write using our senses which are things we will use all our lives. I enjoyed writing about what I could feel because  it made me feel like I was really there taking it all in. I found it challenging to write about what I could taste because if you're looking a t an image you often can't taste anything.

                          Tropical   paradise

I’m welcomed with the smell of the crisp salted sea air and greeted with the scent of the freshly picked coconuts.

Clear ,aquamarine water, elevated coconut tree’s, chalky white clouds twirl around the azure sky. Enormous jagged mountain tops tickle the snow white clouds.

Waves splash along the seashore, coconut tree leaves rustle in the wind.

Soft warm sand, a warm island breeze and sharp pearly sea shells stick out of the soft sand.

Island air is flowing into my mouth like  a refreshing drink of lemonade.

Mother's Day for all Mum's!

This term for mother's day we made mother's day card using a barbecue skewer and some twine.First we traced the shape of a heart on some black paper and then we used the skewers to punch holes on to the outline of the heart. Then we attached a long piece of twine to the skewer and we pulled the skewer trough the holes to make an entangling part in the center.Lasly we wrote a message to our mums on some white paper and glued it to the inside of the card. Now you can try and make one to!

ANZAC Post Card

For Anzac day a couple of weeks ago we had to make a postcard writing to our family from our point of view from the war I was a nurse and told my parents how I had too take care of so many soldiers. My digital learning object shows that the war wasn't just gruesome for the soldiers but also the nurses that were there to help didn't have a great time. I loved researching about the war for information I could use for my postcard.I hope you like my postcard with a belgian stamp.

Amazing Sign Language

This week is NZ sign language week and for NZ sign language week me and class have been learning about basic sign language like finger spelling our name.I also took a course on basic needs and wants in sign language so now I can sign quite confidently.I enjoyed learning sign language because it was like learning a whole new language and it really got me excited! I found it challenging to learn to sign the hail mary because it was so long and complicated. My digital learning objects are two video's of me signing things. The first one is of me signing my name and some basic needs and wants. The second one is of me signing the hail mary. I hope you enjoy them and learn something new.

Amazing Inventions of the Past, the Present and the Future!

This term our focus is our past our present and our future because it is important to reflect on our past so we don't make the same mistakes and focus on the future so that we don't destroy it. I enjoyed choosing and looking at images of the past and seeing what things looked like back then and how they worked.I found it challenging to select a topic for the slides I got to choose because there is such a huge varienty.Next time I  would like to find out more about the inventions and how they work.

My Chaotic Bedroom

This week for writing we had to write a descriptive piece of writing because he had to describe our bedroom and what it looks like. I enjoyed sharing my mixed opinions of my bedroom because I like but I dislike it even more. I found it challenging to describe what I could smell or taste in my room because there's not really something in your room that you can taste.Next time I would add more feelings to my writing because I didn't really have many

My Chaotic Bedroom

My least favorite part of my house is my bedroom because it’s messy, chaotic, crazy and has absolutely no view. My older sister is always running in and out so there’s never a moment's peace and quiet.
My room has two high beds on one half of the room and another wall is lined with wardrobes for our fine clothes. Two large windows line anthor wall. Dark blue curtains frame the windows. Stuff’s randomly scattered everywhere and craft supplies are stuffed under the beds. A large gymnastics box stands proudly just to the side of the window.
My room is the messiest room in the house and my mum gave up trying to keep it clean a long time ago because I can never keep it tidy for more than a few days.
My bedroom has a hard wooden floor, ugly grey plaster walls and the whole room smells of floral perfume, a light breeze is flowing through the open window. My sister likes to keep her finger tapping along the keyboard of a computer..
So, I still dislike my bedroom because it's alway dull, crazy and chaotic.
